Rodrigue's Louisiana Mark your Calendar!
MARCH 6-9, 2008 - New Orleans, LA

From March 1st to June 8th, 2008 the New Orleans Museum of Art hosts George Rodrigue's Louisiana: Forty Years of Cajuns, Blue Dogs and Beyond Katrina. This three-month exhibition is the largest of Rodrigue's career and features two hundred original works borrowed from collections across the country. These include the very first Blue Dog painting,Watchdog (1984), Jolie Blonde and the Aioli Dinner, commissions for Neiman Marcus and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Presidential portraits, Louisiana historical paintings, highlights from the Hurricanes and Bodies series, as well as early works, sketch books, and assorted memorabilia from the artist's personal collection.

Aioli DinnerTo commemorate the opening of this unprecedented exhibition, Rodrigue Studio invites you and your friends to New Orleans for three days of special events, including a New Orleans jazz brunch, a Rodrigue painting demonstration and lecture, a museum gala and private showing of the exhibition, and a second line parade through the French Quarter followed by an authentic Mardi Gras Ball and costume party. Guests will stay at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter. Space is limited, so we encourage guests to book their trip early!

Each registered guest receives one signed and numbered silkscreen print created by George Rodrigue to commemorate this event and valued at $1,800. Print is titled At the Delgado (Prints will be dedicated and shipped after the event).

Pricing
Prices include all events for two (2) people:

  • $2,500 - includes three (3) night hotel stay or
  • $1,800 - does not include hotel stay

Airfare to New Orleans
For those needing to check on airfare, check-in time is 4:00 pm, Thursday, March 6th at the Omni Royal Orleans in the French Quarter. We encourage all registered guests to be in New Orleans at the hotel at this time or earlier.
